HOW WE GOT HERE
The Martial Arts Training Studio (MATS) was founded in Pacifica, CA by martial artist Gino Francisco and meditation instructor Joe Coffin in 2014. Our goal is to strengthen our clients both physically and mentally so they can take on whatever goals they are working towards. Allow us to help you with your journey in life and build a stronger body and mind through various practices.

JOSEPH COFFIN
Meditation Instructor
Joseph has a BA in Social Work and graduated from the Black Swan Temple, Maui. He is trained in the ways of the Essenes, Reiki, and various spiritual practices. He has over 20 years of retreat experience and teaching practice. He teaches various forms of meditation as well as sound healing to people of all ages. Joe currently holds classes at various locations around the Peninsula and is available now for booking your meditation experience.
GINO FRANCISCO
Martial Arts Instructor
A former MMA fighter, and current Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and Muay Thai Coach, Gino has been training in the martial arts since 1995. Having competed in muay thai, karate, jiu jitsu and mixed martial arts, Gino’s extensive knowledge and experience has motivated him to share his knowledge with people from all walks of life. The MATS has provided the platform for him to do so. Gino currently runs a variety of martial arts programs for seniors, children, and adults. He also has several years of experience working in the security industry and trains Law Enforcement in Defense and Arrest Tactics. The majority of his sessions are held at the 69 Washington St. location, where he teaches classes for muay thai, 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu, private and group lessons. Gino is available for seminars and private training around the Peninsula.
